Camping Trip Gone Wrong (And Still Great)

Took the boys camping last weekend at a state park about 2 hours away. It rained the entire time. Our tent wasn't waterproof. We lost power on the camp stove. By Saturday morning we were all cold and damp and miserable. But then something shifted. We just stayed in the tent, played cards, told bad jokes, ate snacks. No phones. Just us. We ended up staying the whole weekend. Didn't do any hiking or fishing like I planned. Honestly one of my favorite trips we've done. Sometimes the mission isn't the mission if that makes sense.

Dude, rain the whole time sounds rough but honestly that's the kind of trip the boys will remember forever. The best stories always come from things going wrong.

This is peak camping with kids right here. Wet tent, no power, and I bet everyone still had a blast. That's what matters.
