Camping trip turned into a disaster
Took the family camping for the first time last weekend. Forgot to check the weather forecast and we got hit with a thunderstorm. The tent wasn't set up right so water started getting in. Spent the whole night basically bailing water out and keeping the kids calm. They actually thought it was an adventure though so I guess it wasn't a total loss? Definitely buying a better tent.
Oh no, what happened? Did you get rained out or something worse? First camping trips with kids are always an adventure in going wrong but it usually makes the best stories later.
This is why I obsess over the forecast now. After our first camping trip went sideways I download weather apps like I'm preparing for a military operation. What was the disaster? Flooding, wind, or just general chaos?
