Camping trip was a disaster but also kind of perfect

Took the family camping for the first time last weekend. It rained like crazy, the tent leaked in one corner, forgot the camping stove fuel, and my 4yo woke up at 3am convinced a bear was outside. We basically huddled in the tent eating cereal and playing card games for two days while the rain hammered down. I was frustrated at first but then realized the kids were actually having a blast. We told stories, made shadow puppets with a flashlight, and nobody was looking at a screen. Wife said it was one of her favorite weekends we've had in years. Going back this month properly prepared this time.
