Camping trip with 3 kids under 10, what am I missing?

Planning our first real camping trip next month. We're going to a state park about 2 hours away for 3 days. I've got a tent, sleeping bags, cooler situation figured out. But I feel like I'm forgetting something important. The kids are 4, 7, and 9. Should I bring like a camp stove or just do campfire cooking? Also is it weird to bring board games? Any advice from you guys who've done this before?

We did this same trip setup and honestly the biggest game changer was a camping stove instead of just trying to cook over the fire. Made meals way easier and less chaotic. Also bring a headlamp for each kid so they feel like adventurers when it gets dark. Oh and definitely pack more first aid stuff than feels necessary.

Don't forget a good headlamp for each kid and the tent stakes - lost like half of mine on our first trip. Also bring way more snacks than you think you need. My three are bottomless pits when we're outdoors.

Two hours away is perfect. Make sure you test your tent setup in the yard first though. Nothing worse than figuring out how it goes together when it's getting dark and kids are getting cranky.

Three kids under 10, okay here's what I learned the hard way: bring way more snacks than you think you need, like triple it. Also those battery powered camping lights are a game changer because you will need to see what you're doing at night. And seriously invest in a good tent - don't cheap out because you'll regret it when someone's sleeping uncomfortable. Have fun though, first camping trips with little ones are awesome.

Two hours is perfect distance. Not too far to feel like a trek but far enough to feel like a real adventure for little kids. Just make sure everyone's gear fits in the car or you'll be stressed before you even get there. We brought too much on our first trip and it was a nightmare packing up.

This will be amazing. Pro tip: pack a few glow sticks for the kids at night, keeps them entertained for hours. And definitely bring wet wipes, so much easier than trying to get everyone to the bathroom.

This sounds like a blast. I'd say bring more water than you think and a real cooler, not just a cheap one. The portable camping chairs with cupholders are worth every penny and the kids will probably end up using them more than you. Also a bluetooth speaker for morning coffee time makes the whole vibe better.
