Camping trip with the scouts went sideways
We had rain that turned everything into mud. Tents leaked, fire wouldn't stay lit, and the kids were getting bummed out. So I told them we're making the best of it and we built a lean-to shelter, got the fire going under a tarp, and told stories all night. By Sunday morning they didn't want to leave. Sometimes the worst conditions make the best memories. Anybody else have a camping disaster that turned out amazing?
This is exactly why I stick to hotel trips with my kids. Camping sounds great until you're wet and cold at 2am. Props for dealing with that chaos.
