Camping trip with three kids - lessons learned
Just got back from a 3 day camping trip with the boys ages 5, 8, and 11. What I learned: bring way more snacks than you think you need, set up the tent before everyone gets tired and cranky, and don't try to teach them fire safety when it's dark and they're cold. One kid didn't want to sleep in the tent, one got a blister, and one loved it so much we're already planning the next trip. My wife stayed home which might have saved our marriage. Would do it again though.
This is the kind of chaos that builds memories though. Sure you're probably exhausted and out of snacks, but those boys are going to talk about this forever.
