Cooking together - what can a 4 year old actually help with?
My youngest wants to "cook" but I'm terrified of her near anything hot. We did cookies and she mostly ate the dough (uncooked, I know I know). Are there actual recipes where a 4yo can meaningfully participate without me having a breakdown?
Sandwiches are boring. Salad is boring. Help me out here?
No-bake stuff is your friend: ants on a log (celery, peanut butter, raisins), sandwiches she decorates, fruit kabobs where she threads stuff onto sticks. All "cooking" with zero safety risk
Decorating pre-made treats hits different for 4yos. Like she can frost cupcakes, add sprinkles, that's legit cooking in her brain and you're not stressed about burns
