Ripped out the old deck completely yesterday. It was rough work and my back is destroyed today but seeing it down to the frame is kind of exciting. Planning to add a pergola on one side. My 12 year old helped pull nails and actually seemed interested. Hopefully I can keep that going through the whole project.
Ripped it all out in one day? That's dedication. I'd be calling in sick to work the next morning haha. Hope you took some before and after pics at least!
That's a big project man. Your back's gonna hate you for a few days but there's something really satisfying about completely gutting something and rebuilding it. You doing the whole thing yourself or getting help?
That's awesome progress! My back screams just thinking about deck demo work. Take it slow on the rebuild and maybe do some stretching before you start each day so you're not completely wrecked.
Respect for going full demo. That's the hardest part honestly. Once you get past that initial destruction it gets way more fun. You got this.
Respect for tackling that yourself. There's something satisfying about tearing it down to studs and building it back up, even if you can barely move the next day. How far out are you from getting it walkable again?
Oh man that demo work is no joke. I did a similar project two years ago and couldn't lift my arms for like a week. Take it easy for a couple days and make sure you're getting help with the rebuild phase if you can.
Nice! How big is the deck you're rebuilding? I've been thinking about tackling ours but honestly the idea of all that demo work has been stopping me. Your post might be the kick in the pants I need.

That's awesome man, deck rebuilds are no joke. My back was wrecked for a week after mine. Make sure you're stretching tonight and maybe grab some ibuprofen before bed. The payoff when it's done though - totally worth it.
