DIY treehouse update - it's still standing and my 10yo hasn't fallen out

Remember that treehouse post from like 2 months ago? Yeah, I went ahead and did it. Spent like $300 in materials, used a design from this YouTube channel (can't remember the name but search 'simple treehouse build kids').

It's not fancy. It's literally a platform with railings and a rope ladder. But my kid has spent more time in that thing than any toy we've ever bought. He reads up there, hangs out with friends, I let him sleep up there sometimes with like 5 blankets and a flashlight.

Took me a weekend and some help from my neighbor. 10/10 would recommend if you have a decent tree.

The fact that it's still standing is half the battle. I know a few dad projects that didn't make it past month one. Props for actually following through.

300 dollars for a treehouse is actually pretty reasonable. What material did you end up using? Pressure treated lumber?

I remember that post! Glad you actually built it. So many of us talk about these projects but never do them. How did the kids react when it was done?

That treehouse sounds awesome but 2 months in and no falls is cutting it close haha. How solid is the railing? That's where I'd be paranoid.
