Farmer's market Saturday morning runs with the kids

Starting a new tradition with my 4yo and 6yo: we hit up the farmer's market early Saturday, let them each pick one thing to take home, then we make breakfast with it. Last week they picked strawberries, week before was peaches. It's cheap, gets us out of the house, teaches them about food, and they're actually learning what's in season. Plus my wife gets a quiet Saturday morning lol. Not gonna change the world but it's become my favorite part of the week honestly.

The farmer's market is honestly underrated as a dad activity. Plus you're supporting local people and your kids see where food actually comes from. We bring a wagon now so they can help pull it around.

You're doing great building this habit early. My kids are 8 and 10 now and we still do our Saturday market runs. It's become our thing and honestly one of my favorite parts of the week.

Love this idea. We do something similar on Saturdays but ours is more chaotic since the kids want to stop at every stand for samples. Do your kids have a favorite vendor yet?

Nice man. We tried this for a few weeks but our 4yo got bored after like 20 minutes. Did your kids warm up to it pretty quick or did it take a few trips?

This is such a solid tradition to build. My 5yo actually eats more vegetables now after getting them at the farmer's market instead of the store. Something about picking them out themselves made a difference.
