Finally building that treehouse, wish me luck

Been planning this for 2 years and my kids are old enough now to actually help. Got the lumber delivered yesterday and I'm starting with the platform this Saturday. Anyone else build one of these? I'm going for something simple, maybe 8x8 feet about 10 feet up in the oak tree. Any tips on making sure it's actually safe? I've watched like 15 YouTube videos but nervous about getting it wrong.

This is the dream right here. The actual helping part lasts like 5 minutes but the memory lasts forever. Make sure you get some photos, especially when they're exhausted and covered in sawdust.

Getting the lumber delivered is the hardest part so you're already past the obstacle. Just make sure it's safe and level. My kids help for about a day before they lose interest but then they use that treehouse for years.

Two years of planning finally paying off, that's awesome. The fact that your kids can actually help makes it so much better than if you were doing it solo. They're gonna remember building that treehouse forever. How high are you going?
