Finally built that treehouse the kids have been asking for
Spent all last Saturday and Sunday up in the oak tree with my 7 and 9 year old. Grabbed some pressure treated 2x8s and basic hardware from Home Depot, YouTube University was my architect. The kids helped hammer nails and we made a pretty solid 8x10 platform about 12 feet up. Not fancy but they absolutely lost their minds when we strung up the rope ladder. Best part was sitting up there Sunday afternoon just talking about nothing while eating sandwiches. Definitely worth the sore shoulders and one sketchy moment when I almost dropped the drill.
That's awesome man. I built a similar setup with my two last summer and it became the neighborhood hangout spot. Pro tip: treat the wood every couple years or it'll rot faster than you'd think. How'd your kids react when you finished?
