Finally built that treehouse with my 6 year old

We've been talking about it for like 2 months and finally pulled the trigger this past Saturday. Grabbed some 2x6s and rope from Lowes and spent the whole day out in the backyard. My son was so pumped he barely ate lunch. Built a little platform about 8 feet up in the oak tree and he immediately wanted to sleep out there. Wife was skeptical but honestly it looks pretty solid. Took some trial and error with the rope knots but YouTube came through. Best weekend in a while.

This is awesome man. Two months of talking about it and then actually doing it with him is the stuff he'll remember forever. The treehouse itself is cool but him building it with you is the real win.

Nice work getting it done! How'd your 6 year old handle the actual building part? Mine wants to help with everything but has the attention span of like 12 minutes.

That's the kind of project I want to tackle with my kids. Did you use plans or just wing it? Asking for a friend who has some leftover lumber and big dreams.
