Finally finished the backyard deck

Took me 3 weekends and way too many trips to Home Depot but we got it done. Kids helped with the small stuff which made it take longer but honestly it was worth it. They're so proud they helped build something. Now I just need to figure out how to keep them from destroying it.

That's awesome man. Those Home Depot trips are brutal but having the kids help out makes it worth it - they'll remember working on that deck with you way more than if you'd just done it alone.

Three weekends is solid work. I'm juggling full time stuff here in Atlanta so I feel that squeeze, but getting the kids involved in projects like this is gold. They learn something and you're actually there with them.

That's a huge accomplishment. Did the kids actually stick with it the whole time or did they bail after day one? Either way, they're gonna think that deck is the coolest thing.
