I know I know, it took way longer than it should have. But Saturday I put in the last screw and applied the stain and honestly it looks pretty damn good. My wife said she wanted a place to put the grill and relax and now we have it. Cost me less than half what the contractor quoted because I did the work myself. Kids are already jumping all over it which is cute and terrifying at the same time.

Don't sweat the timeline. I started a deck three years ago and still haven't finished it. You should be proud you actually got it done instead of it becoming a permanent fixture of half-finished dreams.
