Finally finishing the backyard deck this weekend

Been putting this off for like 2 years. Got the kids to help sand the boards yesterday and we're doing stain tomorrow then sealing it Sunday. Probably gonna be sore but feels good to actually get this done. Hoping to have our first family dinner out there in a couple weeks.

Two years is solid procrastination. But good on you for finally doing it and getting the kids involved. That's a family project right there. How much longer do you think you've got?

Getting the kids to help with sanding? That's patient parenting right there. Mine would just want to hit stuff with hammers and be done. You're teaching them something though which is cool.

Dude finish this weekend so you can actually use it. There's nothing like sitting on your own deck with a cold one knowing you built it. Plus the kids will feel so proud.
