Finally tackling the back deck

My deck has needed restaining for like two years. Started sanding it down last Saturday and realized how much work this actually is. Got maybe a third done before my hands were completely raw. Anyone else do this? Should I just rent a power sander or is that overkill? Don't want to mess up the wood but I also don't want to spend 8 more weekends on this thing.

A third done is solid progress, man. Deck work is one of those projects that always takes longer than you think. Don't rush it though, the payoff when it's stained and looking fresh is so worth it.
