Finished my basement reno and it only took 8 months
Finally done with the basement remodel. Framed walls, ran electrical, installed insulation, drywall, painted. Worked on it basically every free moment since January. Probably cost 3x what I budgeted and I made about a hundred mistakes but it's done and it looks solid. Planning to use it as a workout area and man cave. Feels good to have a finished project.
Congrats on finishing that project. That's a grind especially doing it nights and weekends. I've got buddies who've done basement renos and they all say the drywall taping is the worst part. Did you mud it yourself or bring someone in for that?
Only 8 months is actually pretty good for a full DIY reno. That's a huge accomplishment and your family definitely appreciated having you out there building something. What's the basement going to be used for?
