Took my family camping for the first time at a state park 2 hours away. I was nervous about tent sleeping with a 4 and 6 year old but they loved it. Built a fire, made s'mores, hiked to a waterfall. The kids actually complained when we had to leave. Already planning the next trip.
First camping trip is huge. My daughter is getting to that age where I want to take her out more, so this gives me hope it'll actually be fun instead of a disaster. Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome man! Those are the memories your kids are going to remember forever. The fact that you pushed through your nerves and took them shows up for them.
That's fantastic man. I always think the first time is the hardest mentally but once you actually do it you realize it's not that bad. Did the kids want to go again?

Dude that's awesome! Two hours isn't bad at all. How old are your kids? We're thinking about trying a family camping trip soon but I'm nervous about getting everyone to actually sleep in a tent lol.
