First camping trip with kids as the only adult
Just did a 3 day camping trip with my two kids (7 and 9) and no other adults. My wife stayed home to work on some project. Honestly thought it would be a disaster but it wasn't too bad. We hiked about 4 miles the first day, kids complained but made it. Set up camp together, made tacos over the fire, slept in the tent. Second day it rained so we just hung out, played cards, built a fort in the tent. Third day we packed up and headed home. They both slept the whole car ride. Best part is they already want to go again. Worst part is getting all the mud out of everything but whatever.
This is such a confidence builder. I haven't done solo camping yet but after reading this maybe I should stop making excuses.
