First camping trip with the family

Taking my family of four camping next month for the first time. We're going to a nearby state park for just one night to start easy. Got a tent, sleeping bags, and Coleman stove all set. Any tips for keeping kids entertained around the campfire without a screen? Also what's the deal with bears, should I be paranoid?

Just make sure you have a good sleep system for the kids or they'll be miserable and so will you. We learned that lesson the hard way. Sleeping bags rated for the temp and some kind of pad under them makes a huge difference.

That's awesome! We did our first camping trip last summer with our two kids and it was chaotic but so worth it. Pro tip: bring way more snacks than you think you need. The kids will burn through everything and it keeps them happy on the drive.
