First time camping with a 2 year old - tips?

Planning to take my family camping for the first time with our toddler in a couple weeks. We've got a decent tent and some gear but I'm nervous about keeping him entertained and safe. Do I need to worry about bears where we're going? Should I get a special sleeping setup for him or is a pack and play in the tent okay? Would love any advice from guys who've done this. We're just going to a state park about an hour away so nothing too crazy.
