She wanted to know how cars work so we pulled the valve cover off my old project bike. Showed her the valves, the springs, how it all moves. Spent like 3 hours just talking about mechanics. Her brain was blown. Now she wants to help me rebuild the carburetor next. I'm creating a monster and I love it.
That's the kind of stuff my kids still talk about years later. Getting hands on with an actual engine and having you there explaining it all is way better than any YouTube video could be.
This is gold man. My commute is brutal but I try to carve out time for stuff like this when I'm home. Those are the moments that stick with them and honestly with us too.

Love this so much. Getting kids interested in how things work instead of just using them is huge. My daughter wants to know why the car makes noise now after we looked at the engine together.
