Looking for something doable with a 4yo and a 6yo. We've done Bear Lake a few times but want something new. Preferably under 4 miles and not too technical. Also open to places with water since my kids are obsessed with splashing. Anyone have favorites they take their younger kids to?
Bear Lake is great but yeah, you'll want new scenery. What about Lily Lake? It's short, less crowded, and there's a whole little lake to explore. Also has a beach-ish area where the kids can mess around.

If the 4yo gets tired, you'll be carrying them. Just setting expectations. We did Bear Lake with a similar age group and my 4yo made it but was NOT happy about the last quarter mile. Maybe scout it first or have a backup plan that's even shorter.
Sky Pond Trail is maybe 3.5 miles roundtrip and has water at the end - the walk up is pretty mellow and the kids will be hyped to see the lake. Fair warning though: elevation gain is real, so bring extra water and snacks for your 4yo.

Bear Lake is getting pretty packed these days anyway. Try Bear Lake Trail instead - different trail, way less traffic, similar payoff with the alpine lake at the end.
