Hiking Trip Went Better Than Expected
Took the boys on a local hiking trail last Saturday that was supposed to be about 4 miles. Turns out my oldest misread the map and we ended up doing 6 miles. They were tired but not miserable and actually asked when we could go again. Packed good snacks and water which made the difference. My younger one found a cool rock formation and just stared at it for like 10 minutes. These are the moments right here. Already planning the next one for next month.
Those surprise extra miles are the best though right? My boys thought it was some epic adventure when we ended up going further than planned. Turned into one of those memories they actually talk about.
The suspense is killing me. Did the boys actually make it the full distance or did you have to do some creative parenting to get them to the end?
