Rant: Pinterest DIY projects are LIES

I tried to make those "painted rock garden markers" with my daughter last weekend. You know, the cute ones where you paint rocks to look like veggies and put them in your garden? Looked SO EASY on Pinterest. Took us 4 hours, the paint kept chipping, and they looked like abstract blobs. Meanwhile my 5yo was frustrated and I was frustrated. Just wanted to vent that sometimes the simple-looking projects are actually incredibly annoying. Some of those bloggers need to be honest about prep time and skill level required.

The chipping paint issue is so real. You need special paint sealant stuff Pinterest definitely doesn't mention. But honestly doing a DIY project with your kid is the win even if it looks weird.

This is why I don't even look at Pinterest anymore. Found a "simple bird feeder" project once that required power tools and 3 hours of work. Simple my ass.

Pinterest is a lie wrapped in a pretty font lol. Those rock markers look easy because they're photographed professionally under perfect lighting with the ones that ACTUALLY turned out.
