Renovating the master bathroom, wife gave me a timeline

My wife wants the bathroom done in 6 weeks. I'm doing it myself to save money which probably wasnt the smartest idea. Demo is done, now comes plumbing and tile work. I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos. This is either going to be a great bonding story or a complete disaster that we laugh about in 10 years. Wish me luck fellas.

Six weeks for a full bathroom reno? Your wife is optimistic, I like her style. Real talk though, what's the scope? If it's just demo and install, totally doable. If you're doing tile and plumbing, you might want to buffer that timeline a bit.

Bathroom projects always take longer than you think. I'm not trying to be a downer, but I've seen this play out. Just give yourself grace if you need an extra couple weeks. Your wife will understand once she's using the new space.

I did my kitchen reno and told myself it'd be quick too. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. The money you save doing it yourself gets eaten up when you have to buy the right tools or redo something. Not saying don't do it, just saying keep some extra cash in the budget for surprises.
