Restored an old truck with my son

My dad helped me restore an old truck when I was a kid and it's still one of my favorite memories. Finally decided to do the same with my 14 year old. We picked up a 1998 Ford F150 that's a total mess but has potential. We're taking it slow, learning as we go, watching YouTube videos together. He's getting really into it which makes me happy. The truck doesn't matter as much as the time we're spending together in the garage.

This is awesome. Those memories stick with you forever. I'm planning to do something similar with my son once he's old enough to really understand what we're doing. Did he seem to really grasp what was happening with the truck or was it more just bonding time?
Love this. My daughter is still little but I've been thinking about projects we can do together as she gets older. Did your son help with the actual mechanical stuff or more the grunt work?
