Smoked a Brisket for 14 Hours, Kids Ate Chicken Nuggets
Woke up at 4am Saturday to start a brisket. Trimmed it nice, seasoned it up, got the smoker dialed in. I was so hyped to share this with the family. Smoked it perfectly for 14 hours. Brought it in at like 8pm, it was absolutely beautiful. My 9yo took one bite and was like 'can I have chicken nuggets instead.' My wife was nice about it but I could see her trying not to laugh. My 5yo didn't even try it. Ate like a pound of it myself while they demolished the frozen nuggets. I'll do it again but man that stung a little bit.
14 hours is dedication man. Did you at least get to enjoy it? I feel like half the battle of cooking something nice is actually getting to eat it before it gets cold while you're dealing with kid stuff.
