Smoked a brisket for 14 hours straight and my wife finally said my cooking was 'pretty good'

That's basically a marriage proposal right there. Started it at 6am Saturday morning, kept the temp steady around 250, wrapped it at the stall around hour 8. Pulled it off at 8pm when the probe went in like butter. Sliced it up Sunday morning and the family actually asked for seconds. My 9 year old said it was better than restaurant bbq which made my whole year. Definitely doing this again next month.

14 hours is dedication my man. That's the kind of commitment that actually pays off. I bet that brisket was absolutely perfect. The 'pretty good' from the wife is basically her way of saying it was amazing without fully admitting she was wrong about your cooking skills.
That's the dream right there. Low bar, high reward. Keep crushing those weekend missions and maybe one day she'll upgrade to 'really good'.
