Tackled the backyard drainage problem that's been killing me

Spent most of Saturday digging trenches for a french drain system around the back fence. My knees are killing me but the puddles are finally gone. Rented a power auger which saved my life. Sunday was leveling everything out and laying down gravel. Total cost was like 200 bucks. Could have paid 2k for someone to do it. Glad I didn't give up halfway through.

How deep did you end up going? I tried something similar last year and hit rock about 18 inches down. Honestly just gave up and let nature do its thing. Your knees must be destroyed today.

That's the kind of project that makes you feel like you actually accomplished something. Did you do the whole perimeter or just spot treatment where it was worst?

French drains are no joke. That's a solid weekend of real work. Did you rent equipment or go full manual? My backyard has the same issue and I've been avoiding it like the plague.
