Got it over the summer thinking the kids would use it constantly. It's November and I think my 9yo has used it like 5 times. Just sitting there taking up space. My 6yo can't reach it properly anyway. If anyone wants it, it's yours lol. Just venting - don't think I'll be making this mistake again. Lesson learned that kids need to already be into something before you buy equipment for it.
Nine year olds just want to be inside on screens at that age. We had better luck setting up a soccer goal in the side yard where they could see it from the house. Still not used much but at least it was cheaper.
It's not a waste if you use it for yourself though. I shoot hoops every morning before work and it's honestly my favorite part of the day. The kids will get into it eventually or maybe they won't but you're still getting something out of it.
The real problem is that basketball is boring without other kids around. If you have neighborhood friends over regularly it becomes the place they all want to be. One on one with a parent just isn't as fun for them.
Same thing happened to us. It sat unused until we made it a rule that we all go outside and play for 30 minutes after dinner. Now the kids actually use it. Sometimes you have to force the fun to happen.

Could sell it or move it somewhere more visible? Our driveway hoop gets way more use since everyone walking past can see kids playing. When it was tucked in the back corner it was out of sight out of mind.
