Took my 10yo to build-your-own pottery painting place and it was actually fun

We went to one of those paint-a-pot studios last weekend (I think it's called Pottery Cool or something similar?). I was expecting to hate it but honestly it was lowkey great. Gave him something actual to focus on instead of just running around. He spent like 90 min on a bowl, came home, we glazed it, and got it back this week. He uses it for his snacks now. Highly rec if you have an artsy kid or even if you don't lol

This is such a vibe. Those 'boring' activities actually slap because it's low-pressure, you can talk while you're doing something, and he gets to make something he's proud of. My kid still talks about the mug he painted 2 years ago.
Why did you expect to hate it? Asking genuinely because I notice dads sometimes assume kid activities are gonna be boring and then are surprised when they're not. Changing your mindset about these things makes a huge difference.
