Took the boys on a 4 mile hike and nobody complained

Brought snacks, took it slow, let them pick the trail at the ranger station. We found a creek, looked for frogs, sat at the top and ate sandwiches. Oldest said it was the coolest thing ever. No screens that day, no complaints, just time in the woods with my kids. Doing this every other weekend now.
