Not recommended. Everything got wet, the tent leaked, the fire wouldn't start, and my 6 year old cried because bugs. We packed up after one night. But you know what? We laugh about it now and the kids want to go again. I think I'm either a bad parent or raising resilient kids, not sure which. Planning a better trip in the summer.
At least you tried. That takes guts with a young kid. Pro tip for next time: bigger tent with better sealing and a backup tarp setup. Game changer.
That sounds absolutely miserable but I bet your kid will remember it forever. Not always in a good way but the stories are worth something right?

I feel your pain. We tried camping in drizzle once and I learned real quick that my kids are definitely fair weather campers. The tent situation is the worst when the rain starts.
