I'm trying to renovate a corner of the garage into a little workshop situation but my toddler keeps getting into everything. She's destroyed paint, tried to eat screws, knocked over a shelf. I can't get anything done with her around. Do you just work when they're asleep? Nap times only give me like 45 mins. Frustrated lol
We installed a baby gate at the entrance to the workshop area. It's not perfect but at least it buys me some time before he destroys something actually expensive.
Have you thought about setting up a 'station' right next to you where he can do his own thing? My toddler is way less interested in my projects if he has his own stuff to mess with.
Lock down your tools first, everything else second. I learned that the hard way when my daughter found a hammer.
This is why I do my projects during nap time or after bedtime. Yeah it sucks but it's the only way anything gets done without supervision.

I feel this in my soul. My 2yo treated my wood stain like it was finger paint last month. Now everything gets locked up or moved to the garage rafters.
