We made homemade pizza from scratch and it was messy and perfect
Took inspiration from a post I saw here last month. Got pre-made dough from Whole Foods (not gonna lie, made it from scratch once - never again), set up a station in the kitchen.
Kids got to stretch their own dough, add sauce, pick toppings. My 6yo made a "dessert pizza" with Nutella and strawberries. My 8yo went full pepperoni overload. The floor was covered in flour and sauce but they were actually cooking, not just watching.
Now they want to do it every weekend. This might've been a mistake but honestly best mistake ever.
This is the kind of activity that creates actual memories. Not just because it's cute—but because everyone's doing something together and there's no 'right way' to fail at it. Permission to be messy is huge.
