Who else does the Saturday morning pancake tradition?

Every Saturday my 5 and 8 year old wake up around 7 and we make pancakes together. Let them pick the toppings, they help mix the batter, total mess but they love it. Wife sleeps in which is the deal. Been doing this for like 2 years now. My oldest already talks about doing this with his own kids someday. Might be my favorite ritual we have. Simple stuff but these are the days they'll remember.

This is such a good tradition. My kids are still too young to really help much but I'm looking forward to the day they can actually be useful in the kitchen instead of just making messes.

We do something similar but it's waffles for us. The 5 year old always picks something weird like blueberries and chocolate chips mixed together. Do your kids have any weird flavor combinations they love?

Saturday morning pancakes are the way. We do the same thing but mine insist on trying to flip them themselves and it's a disaster every single time. Do yours actually come out edible or is it just about having fun together?
