Why am I so bad at camping

Rant incoming. Took my kids (6m, 3yo) camping last weekend. Brought a brand new tent. Forgot the POLES. FORGOT THE POLES. Had to drive 40 min back home while they're screaming in the backseat. Came back with poles, set up in the dark, forgot the sleeping pads so my wife and I had zero sleep because they were climbing all over us. Then our oldest got carsick on the way home. I see these other dads at the campground with their perfectly organized setup and their kids doing s'mores together and I'm out here like "maybe we're more of an indoor family" lol
