Anyone else feel guilty working during school hours?
So I work from home and my kids are doing distance learning. They're upstairs doing their classes and I'm sitting here in the home office trying to focus on spreadsheets and conference calls but I keep thinking about how they're right there and I can't help with homework or grab them a snack or whatever. Feel like a bad dad for choosing work over being present even though I literally can't do both. Does this feeling go away or is it just part of the deal?
Three kids, so I've been there multiple times. The best thing I did was stop thinking of it as 'working during school' and start thinking of it as 'being present in the house.' You're there if they need you, and that matters more than you think.
