Anyone use Cozi or similar for family scheduling?

My wife and I are constantly double-booking stuff or missing events because we don't have a single source of truth for what everyone's doing. She's got stuff in her Google calendar, I've got mine, kids have school stuff coming via email, sports signup is on a different app entirely.

Heard Cozi mentioned here before - is it actually worth paying for or is there a free alternative that works just as well? We need something both of us can actually access and update from our phones without it being a whole ordeal.

Cozi is solid. We've been using it for like 2 years and it's way better than trying to coordinate between two phone calendars. The color coding for different people helps a lot.

We tried Cozi but ended up back on Google Calendar because everyone in the family actually uses Google. Cozi felt like one more app to remember to check.

I use Apple Calendar since we're both on iPhone. Push notifications are instant and I don't have to trust myself to check another app. Can't speak to non-Apple stuff though.

Cozi is great if you also have family chores and grocery lists to manage. It's not just calendar stuff. But if you just need scheduling then yeah shared Google Calendar is probably enough.

Google Calendar shared between two accounts honestly works just as well and it's free. Set it up so you both get notifications and most double bookings go away immediately.

The real solution is having one person be responsible for calendar management. Sounds old school but splitting that duty made things worse for us. Now my wife owns it and sends me invites.
