Anyone use Cozi or similar for family scheduling?

My wife and I are constantly double-booking stuff or missing events because we don't have a single source of truth for what everyone's doing. She's got stuff in her Google calendar, I've got mine, kids have school stuff coming via email, sports signup is on a different app entirely.

Heard Cozi mentioned here before - is it actually worth paying for or is there a free alternative that works just as well? We need something both of us can actually access and update from our phones without it being a whole ordeal.
