Back from paternity leave - how do I keep up?
Took 6 weeks off after the baby was born and it was incredible. But I'm back at work for 2 weeks now and I'm drowning. The baby doesn't sleep at night, I'm exhausted during the day, and my boss wants me to jump right back into leading a big project. I feel like I'm failing at everything. Work is suffering because I'm tired, I'm barely present for my wife and kids because I'm stressed about work. Any of you figure out how to manage this transition? Does it get easier or am I just in survival mode for the next few months?
Man, those 6 weeks go by in a flash. The hardest part for me was realizing I couldn't hit pause on work stuff while I was gone. Try blocking off one evening a week that's just for the baby, even if it's just 30 minutes. Helps me feel connected when I'm back in the grind.
