Back in the office after 3 years of WFH and I'm struggling

Had the remote setup dialed in for three years. Could eat lunch with my kids, help with homework during the day, be present. Now company forced everyone back to office. I'm in a cube again and it feels like stepping back in time. First week I almost cried driving home at 6pm because I know I'm gonna miss my daughter's soccer game. How is everyone else dealing with this? Miss the flexibility so much.

Going back to the office after that long must feel like a culture shock. Those little moments with the kids during the day are golden. Is your company flexible at all about maybe going hybrid a couple days a week? Might help you adjust without losing all those connections.
Three years is a long time to have that routine dialed in. Of course you're struggling. The good news is you'll adjust, but that doesn't make the transition any less annoying right now. Hang in there.
