Back to office 3 days a week after paternity leave - I'm already losing it
So I'm 6 weeks into my paternity leave and my company just told me they're bringing everyone back to the office 3 days a week starting next month. My wife is going back to work part time and now we're scrambling to figure out childcare for those days. The daycare waitlist is like 8 months long. I actually love my job but the thought of leaving my daughter 3 days a week is killing me. Did anyone else go through this transition? How did you handle the guilt?
Six weeks back is brutal when you've had that time with the baby. I just went back after paternity leave too and the adjustment is harder than I expected. The guilt is real. But you've got this and your kids will benefit from seeing you balance being a provider and a dad. It gets easier after the first month.
