Balance is a myth and I'm finally okay with that
Spent years trying to be the dad who never missed soccer games and was fully present at home while also being the guy crushing it at work. Burned out twice. Then I just stopped pretending I could do both equally well all the time. Some weeks work dominates, other weeks I take off and focus on family. My kids are actually happier because they get all my attention instead of me being physically there but mentally at the office. Feels like permission to just be human.
Real talk right here. With three kids, I stopped trying to do it all perfectly and just do what I can. The guilt goes away when you accept that showing up imperfectly is still showing up.
