Best side hustle for evenings/weekends?

Looking to pick up maybe $500-800/month extra. Kids are 7, 4, and 2 - so evenings are chaotic but doable after bedtime.

Considering: freelance writing, tutoring online, or maybe Instacart/DoorDash type stuff.

The tutoring appeals to me most (only worked til like 8pm, still home) but writing feels less "ugh I'm tired" at the end of a work day. Anyone doing any of these? What's the realistic time commitment?

Freelance writing or tutoring online would work great with your schedule. Evenings are actually ideal for that stuff since you can do it after kids are in bed. I make like $600-700 a month doing it.

Dude with a 2 year old in the mix evenings are definitely chaos. Maybe look into something you can do in chunks instead of needing long uninterrupted blocks? Fiverr gigs or virtual assistant work might be better than something that needs focus.

Shopify dropshipping or reselling stuff from thrift stores on eBay might work. Not passive but you control the hours and can do it while kids sleep. Takes some hustle upfront though.

Handy skills? Pressure washing or lawn care on weekends could hit that number pretty easy. Takes maybe 10-15 hours a month and you're done. Beats being hunched over a computer when you've already worked all day.

I tried Uber eats driving for a bit but honestly with three kids it killed me. Just driving around waiting for pings while trying to get home by bedtime was rough. The money wasn't worth it for my stress level.
