I'm working 50+ hours a week, daughter is 3, we're barely keeping our heads above water financially and emotionally. Wife brought up trying for baby number 2 and I just shut down. I love our daughter more than anything but I'm exhausted all the time. Feel guilty even saying this. How do other guys handle the pressure to have more kids when you're already stretched thin? Is it selfish to say no right now?
Man, I get it. Three kids here and there were definitely moments where I wondered what we were thinking. Have you and your wife sat down when you're both not exhausted to really talk through the finances and your workload? That conversation matters before making any big decisions.
Honest talk - burnout is real and it doesn't go away on its own. I'd pump the brakes on baby talk until you two figure out a plan to get some breathing room. Maybe that means adjusting work, cutting expenses, or just getting on the same page about what you can actually handle right now.

Just doing my best over here with one kid, so I won't pretend to know exactly what you're dealing with. But it sounds like you need some help or a real break more than you need to add another mouth to feed. Take care of yourself first.
