Career advancement vs being present for my kids

Got offered a promotion that would mean more travel and longer hours. On paper it's great money and looks good for my resume. But honestly I'm already missing half my kids's lives with my current job. My daughter asked me last week why I have to work so much and I didn't have a good answer for her. This job would be even worse. Is it crazy to turn down a promotion to stay in a position where I'm at least home for dinner most nights?
