Got offered a promotion that would require travel about 20% of the time and longer hours. It's good money and career wise it's the move I should make. My oldest is 6 and I dont want to miss stuff. Being new to all this, I don't have years of experience like you guys, but the 20% travel sounds manageable if the rest of your life allows it. Could you negotiate the hours even if you take the travel? That might be the sweet spot.
Congrats on the offer though. Before you decide, ask yourself this: will the extra money actually improve your family's life or just your bank account? My fridge is a gallery of my kids' artwork and I wouldn't trade that daily interaction for anything. Whatever you choose, make sure it's what feels right for YOU too.

That's the real tough one man. I turned down a similar opportunity two years ago and honestly I still wonder if I made the right call. The money would've been great but missing those daily moments with my kids? I couldn't do it. Only you know what your family needs right now.
