Career pivot after kids - anyone else doing this?

Been in sales for 12 years but I'm considering a move to project management or operations—something with more predictable hours and less travel. Pay might be similar, maybe slightly less. The problem is I've built my entire identity around being the guy who closes deals, and I'm worried I'll feel like I'm settling. Has anyone successfully pivoted to something "less prestigious" for family reasons? Do you regret it? Does the prestige thing actually matter once you're not working 60 hours a week?
